The evidence continues to build for the use of therapeutic massage as a tool in reducing pain and inflammation in the body. One of the oldest medical therapies, the usefulness of massage is that it can provide immediate and lasting pain relief without relying on opioids or anti-inflammatory drugs.
At CC4PM, we provide massage therapies, as well as yoga classes designed specifically around pain management protocols. Though not all types of massage are available, the therapies we provide are tailor made to help reduce pain and improve function in the affected areas of the body. Our providers are all specially trained in pain management and myofascial massage therapy, to provide a complete full body pain relief program.
Massage works by increasing the circulation and blood flow to targeted muscles and joints, helping to trigger the body’s natural healing and anti-inflammatory response, and reducing built up tension in the muscles. Massage can also help by providing myofascial release, a massage technique that utilizes gentle, sustained pressure into the connective tissues to eliminate pain and restore motion. This can help improve range of motion and flexibility in almost any joint, and is an effect pain relief treatment for most types of joint or musculoskeletal pain.
